Currents February 2019

Did you know that the Great Lakes are the biggest freshwater source in the world? Lake Erie is the most productive for fishing of all the Great Lakes. Your support helps make our streams clean, clear and healthy so they can support this complex ecosystem. By donating to PCS, you help us reach our goals of restoring rivers that lead to Lake Erie beaches that promote fishable and swimmable conditions for generations.

PatchDay20185We are excited to announce that registration is now open for our 17th Annual Partnering for Clean Streams Youth Patch Day Workshop.  This program is open to 2nd - 5th grade Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, and any other youth interested in learning about our local water quality.  It will be held on Sunday, March 3rd with check-in starting at 1:00pm and programs ending at 4:30pm.  Patch Day will be taking place at UT’s Lake Erie Center, 6200 Bay Shore Road in Oregon, Ohio.  The cost is $5 per participant and must be paid prior to March 3rd. Register your group online before February 22nd. Please note, this is not a drop off program. Kids should be accompanied by an adult.

Patch Day offers a unique opportunity for youth to earn a patch and to learn about the importance of our local water system. Water quality experts from Northwest Ohio will present various programs and hands-on activities relating to "Habitats."  We hope that everyone will be able to understand our connection to our water resources and the importance of protecting and conserving them.
