Did you know that the Great Lakes are the biggest freshwater source in the world? Lake Erie is the most productive for fishing of all the Great Lakes. Your support helps make our streams clean, clear and healthy so they can support this complex ecosystem. By donating to PCS, you help us reach our goals of restoring rivers that lead to Lake Erie beaches that promote fishable and swimmable conditions for generations.

Description

Depending on the water levels, we will be trying to go out to the far side of Blue Grass Island to pull line and trash. Please meet in the Riverview Parking Lot of Side Cut Metropark.

During the program we will focus on pulling fishing line, lead and lures from the banks of the Maumee River. Every year during the walleye and white bass runs, a good deal of line get's tangled on rocks, branches and everywhere imaginable. It is our hope to get as much of it out of the water as possible to keep all creatures that live along the river safe and our waterways healthy. This event is weather and water level dependent, so please contact PCS the day of the event is you have any concerns.

If you would like to participate, please wear closed toed shoes and clothing that you do not mind getting wet. PCS will provide gloves, pliers, scissors and all other materials necessary to conduct this cleanup. We hope to see you there!
