Looking for a service project that educates your community and promotes healthy waterways? Sign up for our Storm Drain Marking program this spring or summer! Volunteers 10+ are invited to take part in this program in which storms drains are marked with the phrase “Drains are for Rain – Flows to Waterway,” and educational information is distributed to neighbors. Storm drains are designed for only rain water as they flow, untreated, directly into our streams, rivers, and Lake Erie. Last year, we had 71 volunteers who marked 742 storm drains in the greater Toledo area and distributed 2,424 informational flyers throughout the community. This program is flexible and can be coordinated through PCS and local municipalities. We will provide all the supplies and facilitate the program.
