Along with our Stormwater Coalition partners and community agencies, we have re-launched the Toledo Lake Erie Clear Choices Clean Water campaign. Local information and community volunteer opportunities are being updated on the website. Each month, we will feature a different pledge, and highlight ways that users can support each campaign. For the month of April, we are promoting the “Volunteer Service” pledge. Although everyday is Earth Day for us here at PCS, for those in the community, this is a special time to give back to Mother Nature. We have several upcoming volunteer events where you can do your part for the Earth and our greater Toledo community. The first simple step is to visit the Toledo Lake Erie C3W website and make a pledge for clean water. There are five pledges to choose from: Volunteer Service, Super Kids, Lawn Fertilizer, Native Plants and Pollinators, and Pet and Other Poo. Each pledge provides educational information on why these problems affect Lake Erie and what you can do to be part of the solution.
The next step is to get active! We will be sharing our April Volunteer events on our social media, as well as Toledo Lake Erie’s C3W’s. You can schedule a Clean Your Stream 365 event, volunteer with us at the Mercy Health Glass City Marathon “Green Team”, support PCS water quality programming at our Spaghetti Fundraiser, help us educate citizens at the BGSU Eco Fair and UT’s Earth Fest, and more! Help us encourage responsible fishing this walleye season by adopting or sponsoring a fishing line recycling bin. We are always looking for volunteers to help us in our mission of clean, clear, and safe water in our community. So, make a clear choice for clean water: make a pledge on the re-launched C3W website and volunteer with PCS this Earth Day!
