Did you know that the Great Lakes are the biggest freshwater source in the world? Lake Erie is the most productive for fishing of all the Great Lakes. Your support helps make our streams clean, clear and healthy so they can support this complex ecosystem. By donating to PCS, you help us reach our goals of restoring rivers that lead to Lake Erie beaches that promote fishable and swimmable conditions for generations.

Description

For 25 years, volunteers have gathered across the greater Toledo region to remove trash from streams, rivers, and Lake Erie during Clean Your Streams Day. Partners for Clean Streams, with help from many partnering organizations, is proud to announce the 25th Annual Clean Your Streams Day on Saturday, September 25. Save the date - registration will open in August.

Individuals, organizations, businesses, and families with children of all ages are welcome to sign up for this unique service opportunity. The cleanup begins at 8am with check-in, orientation, and light breakfast at some kickoff locations. Groups will then be assigned a site where they will undertake a three-hour cleanup. By 9am, volunteers will spread out to their assigned sites, all within the Ottawa River, Swan Creek, Maumee River, and Lake Erie tributaries and Maumee Bay watersheds.

In the afternoon, volunteers will reconvene at the Lucas County Fairgrounds for an appreciation picnic, including food, a celebration of accomplishments, and to announce the winners of cleanup challenges and the Trash to Treasure art challenge.
Partners for Clean Streams Inc. is striving for abundant open space and a high quality natural environment; adequate floodwater storage capacities and flourishing wildlife; stakeholders who take local ownership in their resources; and rivers, streams and lakes that are clean, clear and safe
