It’s summer time, which means it’s time to get out on the water! Join Metroparks of the Toledo Area, along with Ohio Department of Natural Resources’ Paddle Ohio program for a free paddle experience on June 28th at 1pm at Farnsworth Metropark. The paddle is great for beginner paddlers, as well as experienced boaters, and is suitable for those over the age of 12. While paddling, learn about the importance of stream ecology and monitoring from guest lecturer, Christina Kuchle from ODNR and partners like PCS. Experience nature and our community from a whole different perspective. The program counts toward a Paddle Ohio pin. To get your pin, you must paddle 4 different Ohio scenic rivers or water trails and send your information to ONDR. Register to paddle with us on June 28th at MetroparksToledo.com. Equipment is available to borrow, please specify when registering. If one paddle is not enough, check out the Metroparks of the Toledo Area registration page or join Northwest Ohio River Runners for more upcoming paddles.
