Benjamin Smieszek is currently a senior at the University of Toledo majoring in Environmental Science with a concentration in Biology. He has an Associate Degree in Applied Science focusing on automotive repairs and maintenance and with this experience he has garnered skills in diagnosing and addressing complex problems. While at the University of Toledo, Benjamin has focused on Ecology and Land Management. He interned with The Nature Conservancy where his responsibilities involved invasive species removal and mapping, as well as seed collection, which helped him to gain experience in land management and a better understanding of land redevelopment. After graduation, he plans on obtaining a job in the environmental science field focusing on mitigating environmental issues that are found within Northwest Ohio.
Ben will be working with PCS this summer helping to prep for the 23rd Annual Clean Your Streams Day. We are looking forward to him coming onboard to help with our summer cleanups, Get the Lead Outs, and planning our big cleanup in September.
