Looking for some volunteer hours for a club, group, or just because? Want to get involved in making an impact on your community? Look no further! There are 3 programs we are looking forward to this month, and we hope to see you there!

PCS is excited to once again partner with the City of Perrysburg for the annual Great American Cleanup! Every year, the City organizes this clean-up, and together we’ve collected hundreds of pounds of litter, including cigarette butts, microplastics, and food wrappers. The Keep America Beautiful® Great American Cleanup is the largest community improvement program in the nation, taking place in thousands of communities across the country. We’re proud to be part of this impactful initiative with the City of Perrysburg.
Sign up here! We invite you to join us for one (or both!) of the clean-up days this year:
- Saturday, April 12, 2025: Three Meadows Park, 9 a.m. – 11 a.m.
- Sunday, April 13, 2025: Orleans Park, 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.
Can’t make it to the cleanups, or want to take part in a different environmental effort? Join us for the 2025 CWAT Water Quality Monitoring Season Training & Kickoff event! Register here!
We are looking forward to another year of water quality monitoring with Community Water Action Toledo (CWAT). The sampling season runs from April to October, and we need your help to monitor different routes and sites in our area. At the training & kickoff, you’ll learn how to use the sampling equipment, track data, and understand the importance of testing our local waterways. Think of it like a check-up for our rivers, streams, and creeks—just as we monitor our health, we monitor vital water conditions such as temperature, pH, and this year, we’re adding Chlorides probes!
We’re also excited to welcome special guest Amy Wamsley, founder of Amy’s Swimventure, who will be joining us in the Maumee River. Amy’s mission is to raise awareness about water conservation and empower women through body image and aging challenges. After swimming across the English Channel for her 50th birthday, Amy founded Amy’s Swimventure to support women and promote environmental sustainability. Her recent training revealed the impact of water pollution on health, which led her to expand her focus to include both Water Conservation and Women’s Empowerment.
We hope to see you on April 19, 2025, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. for an inspiring and informative event!
