Did you know that the Great Lakes are the biggest freshwater source in the world? Lake Erie is the most productive for fishing of all the Great Lakes. Your support helps make our streams clean, clear and healthy so they can support this complex ecosystem. By donating to PCS, you help us reach our goals of restoring rivers that lead to Lake Erie beaches that promote fishable and swimmable conditions for generations.

Clean Your Streams

This year things are going to look a little different than in previous years. Your safety has been at the forefront of our minds throughout the entire planning process. That is why we decided to have a detailed discussion of our cleanup protocols and our safety guidelines with the Lucas County Health Department. With that “green” light, we are excited to bring more options and flexibility this year by providing both a small-group clean-up option and a “virtual” option.

Utilizing the Clean Swell app, we are also offering a “virtual” option for CYS 24. You register for CYS 24 but instead of going to a Kickoff to check-in, you can go out in your own comfort and do a self-directed clean-up the week before Sept 26th (or join in on the 26th too) and provide the trash data through the app!  A short tutorial on how to use the CleanSwell App for CYS 24 can be found here.

  • Masks on when 6 feet or closer to non-family members- our leadership teams will always have them on
  • Check-in is brief and staggered for each small group (15ish minutes)
  • Assigned clean-up sites, we will get your group spread out to its own location in need of a stream cleanup
  • Small groups receive pre-prepared kits of cleaned supplies, site assignments, explanation of data card and a brief safety talk

Please read the full safety guidelines for CYS 24 here.
