Currents August 2017

Did you know that the Great Lakes are the biggest freshwater source in the world? Lake Erie is the most productive for fishing of all the Great Lakes. Your support helps make our streams clean, clear and healthy so they can support this complex ecosystem. By donating to PCS, you help us reach our goals of restoring rivers that lead to Lake Erie beaches that promote fishable and swimmable conditions for generations.

hannahMeet the new Communication and Outreach Specialist – Hannah Smith. She joined us in July and is excited to be a part of the PCS team. Originally from Fort Wayne, Indiana, she recently received her Bachelors of Science in Environmental Management from Indiana University. Her passion for conservation and water quality began on her Boundary Waters canoe trips in middle and high school.  Hiking, camping, and enjoying the wilderness led her to focus on environmental affairs for her career.  Wetland mitigation and restoration have been an area of interest while interning at a non-profit called Little River Wetlands in Indiana and Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge in Oak Harbor.  She hopes to make a positive impact in water quality in her Lake Erie community.
