Currents November 2018

Did you know that the Great Lakes are the biggest freshwater source in the world? Lake Erie is the most productive for fishing of all the Great Lakes. Your support helps make our streams clean, clear and healthy so they can support this complex ecosystem. By donating to PCS, you help us reach our goals of restoring rivers that lead to Lake Erie beaches that promote fishable and swimmable conditions for generations.

HuntingtonCenterIt’s the most wonderful time of the year – to volunteer!  PCS is excited to announce our new partnership with the Huntington Center during their Winter/Spring event season.  As a local non-profit, we are always looking for innovative ways to increase our funding base so that we can continue to increase our environmental and educational impact.  We will be working the concessions at the Huntington Center for several events. Half of all concession proceeds with go directly to PCS so that we can use these unrestricted funds to support our annual programs, such as Clean Your Streams Day, Get the Lead Out, Youth Patch Day Workshop, and more.  We need 10+ volunteers per event, so this is a great opportunity for a group to get service hours or just give back at a fun event.  Check out our signup list of upcoming dates and events and see if you have a few hours to partner with us!  The next event we need volunteers for will be Friday, November 30th for the Trans Siberian Orchetra.  We have three shifts for this event: 1:30-5:00, 1:30-10:30, and 5-10:30.  The deadline to sign up is Friday, November 23rd.  Liability forms must be signed and turned in at the event.  For more information about volunteering at the Huntington concessions, click here.  Volunteers must be 16 years or older at all events and 19 years or older to serve alcohol.  If you can’t make it to any of the Huntington Center events, please consider giving directly to our annual programs through a donation.  It’s the season of giving and we hope you will give us your time so we can continue giving back to our rivers, streams, and lakes.
